Partners cooperate on customer projects and future topics in the field of sensor technology
Espelkamp/Ruppichteroth, 08.09.2022. A look into future topics of electronics: foil sensor developer accensors and electronics specialist GED combine their know-how in a strategic partnership. The aim of the bundling of competences is the development of new and innovative sensor systems, which can be used among others in medical technology.
With their expertise and experince in sensor technology and electronics both partners are highly skilled in implementing both customer and in-house developments quickly and efficiently, leading thier projects not least to marketability. However, trends and topics in the electronics industry are also to be jointly observed, analyzed and developed.
„Through the cooperation with GED we create a double added value“ Eike Wilhelm Kottkamp emphasizes, Managing Director of accensors. „On the one hand, we connect accensors tightly to a professional electronics development company and will thus, expand the quality, expertise and supplier network in the field of evaluation electronics. On the other hand, the partnership gives us further freedom in our specialist discipline – the development and production of foil sensors.“

The launch of the partnership takes one of their previous joint projects to the next level of development. In the closest collaboration, the companies have developed a Smart-Patch-Plattform (Smart Patch, intelligent patch) to bring intelligent sensor technology to the skin. Here, accensors and GED are now taking the next steps towards a first medical product. The cooperation also includes the demanding approval process according to the MDR (Medical Device Regulation).
GED and accensors will also work very closely together in the future to identify and evaluate strategic growth topics. One example is the area of edge computing. Here, the two partner companies share mutual belief that sensor networks with data processing at the network periphery will have an increasing relevance for the digitalization in economy, society and especially for industry 4.0.

accensors, is a pioneer for foil sensors, foil actuators and foil emitters. More and more often, various industries use specific sensors to enable permanent condition monitoring. For this purpose, accensors develops novel flexible as well as component-adapted and design-free foil sensors.
